YOU ARE A SLAVE...

... and you just took a journey through the underground railroad to get your freedom. What kinds of difficulties did you encounter? Were the difficulties worth it? Why were you willing to endure these difficulties?

One of the slave narratives on fresh air today discussed a slave that tried to escape 5 times! He certainly would have argued that it was worth it to try to escape.

me and Oscar think that the under ground railroad was a bad experience . The journey was difficult but we made it.

The difficult part is risking your life for crossing the lake eire.i think that going into the woods was dangerous because we thought we would get caught so we were going up to the house where we thought it was not dangerous.

We crossed the eire lake of Canada. Yes, because we had to be free.We were willing to do it because we did'nt want to work for someone and to have freedom. jacob and stephan

The slaves faced the following problems that they had to cross a big river to get to Canada. The slaves will run away because they wanted to get freedom from being slaves.

You will proboliy need to slip throw some cracks and slim. Or freaze to death. The good thing that would happen is that you would of been in the Underground Railroad and that is a safe place. to be in.

I think it was very hard because they had to walk all night and all day.she got hit in the head and she got blackouts and stil kept walking. And if they cought her I think she would be treated bader than she was treated.

I think that it is great that Harriet Tubman escaped and she was lucky to have a person to let her in their house for she could sleep also she crossed many places. I also couldnt believe she had to cross a river.

This is a good time of year to think about how much the slaves really wanted to be free. Imagine trying to run away in a snow storm without a coat or boots or any way to get warm. It makes you realize how bad their lives were that they would be willing to risk everything for freedom.

While the experience and risk of escaping to freedom were great, the daily abuse of being hurt made it the right thing to do to get away to freedom - if only more people would have found the courage and confidence to take that risk.

I can think of no difficulty that I would not be willing to face in order to gain my freedom.
